Transportation

Yes finally we're leaving too italy for our 40th anniversary in rome (may 1st)at 4:00pm Surprised husband with a 3 day stay at rome cavalier hotel. Good price. I wanted to be in the city to walk everywhere but husband needed some rest and relaxation. This place I just found out its 50 minutes from FCO airport. What is the best way to get to hotel? Also I was planning to try to rent a car (may 4th on Saturday) if we can qualfy with the high insurance rates i dont know. out of FCO to a place were staying in (certaldo) is
That sound good or should I take a train which one? I'll be the one driving. I'm a good driver not afraid but terrified of the tickets for area u can't drive in. Will be in Tuscany for two weeks and venice for 3 days then back out to Rome FCO ( Wow sounds ) ? Any suggestions can't change schedule just mode of transportation. If we can't get a car for the two weeks it will be difficult. But will make the best of it. Roberto can u please help me figure this out. Be nise ok ha ha thanks sylvia

I love the Cavalieri, it's a great hotel. The best way to get there is with a private transfer. I like romecabs.com. They are wonderful and cheaper than the transfer the hotel will set up for you. I would take the train to Certaldo and get a car there if you need one. Be aware of the ZTL's, speed limits, restricted lanes and parking spaces. Driving can be fun but there are many ways to get a ticket while in Italy. Donna

Maybe you should put Roberto's name in the subject line.. We're all going to have to start paying him!
