Transport to Genoa Airport

We will be departing from Manarola in the Cinque Terre for Genoa Airport. It looks like we can get a train from Manarola to either Genova Piazza Principe or Genova Brignole train station, and from either one of those, the Volabus Shuttle to the alrport. Has anyone done this? Which train station is better to pick up the Volabus? Is it difficult to find the bus stop at either station? This will probably be rather early in the morning. Is there a safety issue at either station? Can we still purchase tickets for the shuttle from the driver?

Thank you once again for all of your help! Gerri

I have been to this website, Sam. It is a lovely site - very easy to understand - but it does not answer any of my questions other than where to purchase tickets. And as to that, I can never be sure how up to date these websites are, hence my question about purchasing tickets.

Therefore, if you or anyone else can answer any of these questions, i would be most appreciative! Gerri

Well I spotted "Tickets available: on board the coach" right away. It is clear that the Volabus covers both stations. Piazza Principe is between Brignole and the airport. From Google maps, the Volabus is immediately outside of the Brignole station to the left as you exit the station. I guess if you board there, you will be the first one on the bus and have your choice of seats and be first to load your luggage. Can't speak about safety. I can't imagine it being any more or less safe than any other place in Italy.
