Would like to travel from Rome to Amalfi Coast around October 6, 2022 and would like opinions, pros/cons, on different modes of transportation to get there. We are 3 adult couples

I haven’t taken the time to search and pull up the threads, but this has been covered pretty extensively. I personally prefer taking the fast train from Rome to Naples and then hire a private taxi (Mercedes van) for €120 to the Amalfi Coast. If you’re not staying on the Amalfi Coast, but in Sorrento then the Circumvesuviana is a good option.

If you’re planning on staying on the Amalfi coast,
(Positano-Salerno) then take the train from Roma Termini to Salerno (2H10m) then travel to your village of choice by ferry.
