We currently have afternoon factory tour ticket for Lamborghini + Museum. Would someone have experience with taxi service in this area (?possible challenge with getting back to Modena from museum)? There is a bus at 6pm and have considered car rental too. Would appreciate any thoughts/suggestions.
Here you can find the rates of the taxi cooperative in Modena: https://www.cotamo.it/dwl/tariffe_modena_it-en.pdf
To and from the Lamborghini museum you should consider the same rate as for the airport or "Stazione Mediopadana", so around 60/70€ per way.
In the website you can find even the WA number to call the taxi.
This is so very helpful, thank you!!
From what I understand, I think it will be less expensive and will work for us to take the bus from Modena to the Museum ( Sant Agata stop) and book a taxi to return. Would you be able to help with bus information? Is there a bus app in English? Many thanks!!
It looks like the bus you're looking for is the T>Per 552. Running from CENTO AUTOSTAZIONE to Sant'agata Bolognese - specifically Sant'Agata B. Chiesa Frati is the closest and is a short walk to the museum.
Here's a pdf of the schedule: https://www.tper.it/sites/tper.it/files/VARIAZIONI/tper_fe_552.pdf (through June 6th)
There appears to be some rule that Italian bus sites are confusing and unhelpful. But it looks like it's very early morning or it really gets running about noon. The last bus looks like 5:53 but the schedule may be different by the time you're there.
Hopefully this works out for you,

Yes: you need to use the line 552, who connect Modena and Ferrara.

On the timetable you need to check the stop "Sant'Agata", because is a multiple lines timetable and not all buses listed passed through Sant'Agata.
In Italy the most of buses are timed for students and workers, so in normal are mostly early morning or late afternoon.
Thank you!! Looking forward to experiencing the various Italian transport methods on this trip - taxi, bus, train and boat !
Amazing!! Sounds like the bus is more complicated than just it's schedule & pricing! (I can't quite figure out the zones?!)
Is this the site that you're referring to? https://just-plan.online/
Grazie mille a tutti ! All the replies have been so helpful. Our timing works such that we'll ask our food tour guide in Modena to point us towards the right bus to head to the Lamborghini Museum, and have negotiated hiring a car through Just Plan Italy for the return trip. The negotiations have been very pleasant and helpful with this company especially, since doing this in advance by email and in English!
