Transport from Venice to Ravenna for RC Cruise (9/13 @ 11:00 am)

Hello folks!
Looking for best advice to get from Venice to Ravena cruise port for Royal Caribbean cruise. Our embark time is 11 AM on 9/13. There are 10 of us.

Suggestions? Train#? Bus?

Check with your cruise line-they might offer transportation as an excursion for embarkation day. I’ve booked this for my Celebrity cruise.

Check with cruise company- that would be your simplest option

Other options-
Driver- you will need 2 vans for 10 people but split 10 ways could make it more affordable
It's about 2.5 hour drive

Your pick up point would be Piazzale Roma in Venice

Train- fast train then change in Ferrara (easier than Bologna) to a regional train to Ravenna then taxis to the port

I suppose there is also a bus- 3 hours or so to Ravena then taxi to port

Some of same info shared with you in your previous post

hey hey smooners
have no idea what "your best" means,
hire a private taxi from piazzale rome is expensive, dig deep into pockets, since you'll need 2 vans for all 10 of you. since it's a one way transport that taxi/van needs to come back to piazzale rome (90+miles one way). you can get a quote and do a split with 10 people to see if worth it.
take the train (trenitalia or italotreno), budget friendly. look at departure times/stops and you decide. there is a box to check for seniors 60+, how much a discount don't know. also may have discount for 10 people, check it out 2H30M to 3H30M travel on the train, your decision.
do you have a special deal to embark that early when ship leaves later that afternoon/evening? you can always grab a bite to eat at train station to take on train (we make like a picnic with bottle of wine & our own corkscrew) to enjoy. make sure you validate ticket before getting on train. don't want you and the gang getting a fine to pay then and there. also be aware many others trying to get to ship from venice and will be crowded. have great cruise, enjoy, have fun

No idea of the composition of your group of 10, but going to Ravenna the night before might allow a greater choice of options and make for a lot less stress.

Working backwards from "11AM at the boat", by my rough calculation, means being on a bus/train by around 730AM so about a 530AM wake up. Breakfast options may be limited that early.

If the cruise line has a bus service from Venice that is probably the ideal solution.
