transport from Turin to Skyway Monte Blanco and from Turin to Parco Nazionale del Gran Paradiso

We were there last October and found it easiest to rent a car for a few days. Handy if you find out that the alps are socked in before you drive to Courmayeur for the Skyway. So you could substitute something else. You could also take a short drive to the wine towns in the Langhe - Barbaresco, Barolo, Asti, Alba.

Thanks. Hubs is against driving. There is a bus and I think a train as far as Aosta from Turin but now I am thinking about just getting two nights in the area so we can do the park one day and the Skyway another and not worry about the long transport from Turin. I can't decide. I was trying to have a base in Turin for relaxation's sake but I don't know if that's really workable. Thoughts?

I would consider it more relaxing and convenient to stay in Aosta. Train travel time from Torino to Aosta can be between 2h 15m and 5 hours, with the poorer connections sometimes at your typical morning departure times. (Local commuter traffic would be going the other way.)
