Transport from Florence to Rome Airport

Looking to find an easy option to get direct to the Rome Airport on 7-17-23 at tour end from Florence. I’m a solo traveler so hoping for easy options or if anyone is in need to do this also.

Rome has 2 airports.

Assuming you mean FCO, there 2 direct high speed trains from Firenze SM Novella station to FCO. They are both run by Trenitalia and depart from Florence at 7:05 AM and 11:48 AM.

If you can't take either, there are many more options with a change in downtown Rome. In this case you can choose between Italotreno and Trenitalia.

The July trains schedules will be gradually uploaded on trenitalia.com by June 11.

A bit off topic, but are you planning on taking a flight to US/Canada the same day?

Unless the flight is mid to late afternoon, it is a high risk proposition.

Have you already purchased your flights? Make sure to give yourself enough time to get to the airport and schedule your flight for noon or later.

When you look on the Trenitalia website for a direct train, use Firenze SM Novella as your departure station and Fiumicino Aeropuerto as your arrival station. All trains won’t show up far in advance, so be patient. You won’t have any trouble with this. Your hotel can call you a cab to take you to the train station and then it is a matter of just getting on the train. You will have a seat reservation as part of your ticket.

I found it difficult to find a flight home that would work well for me that left in the afternoon. I was flying on Frequent Flyer miles which did limit my options quite a bit. I discovered I would end up with an overnight somewhere on my way home. Either I would need to travel to the airport in Italy, spend the night and then fly home or start my journey and spend the night in a connecting city on my way. Hopefully you have more options than that.
