We will be on a Celebrity cruise arriving in Civitavecchia. Any recommendations for transport from the Civitavecchia port to Rome are appreciated. There will be 8 passengers with a lot of luggage.

You could try Rome Cabs, which is a private hire service, not taxis. However with that many people with multiple pieces of luggage each, you may need 2 vehicles.

Train or car/driver as previously suggested. Train is cheaper but it can be slog from the ship’s point of mooring to the port entrance and from there to the station. Taxis may not be allowed to pick you up at the ship. So it’s a shuttle to the port entry and the taxi to station. Otherwise see if the cruise company offers transport into Rome. Might be easiest with a group and lots of luggage but expensive.
