Which museum in Rome has the most beautiful transparent marble sculptures? I keep hearing about the gorgeous transparent veils.
I am not aware of any "transparent" marble carvings in Rome or anywhere else. There is a sculpture in the Cappella Sanservo chapel in Naples, which depicts the veiled body of Christ. The veil is draped across his body and face, and the details of the face are visible, but that was carved that way. Marble is a metamorphic stone, one that can be translucent if cut thinly enough, but I am not aware that it is possible to have transparent marble.
This is the sculpture to which the previous poster is referring:

It is an amazing work of art.
I’ve seen veils on sculptures that have such a realistic look to them that it’s difficult to believe they’re part of the marble. The last ones I remember were at the d’Orsay museum in Paris and Ca’Rezzonico in Venice. I don’t remember specifically seeIng them in Rome.
I'm not sure which specific museum you're thinking of, but I have two ideas.
The Borghese Gallery in Rome has fantastic Bernini sculptures. They aren't noted for transparent marble veils, but they are exquisite.
The Capella Sansevero in Naples has not only the Veiled Christ, but also Disillusion, which I found even more amazing. How the sculptor made marble look like rope netting is still astonishing to me.
Harold, "Disillusion" is just mind-blowing, isn't it?
We have a veiled sculpture at our Minneapolis Institute of Art.

The Veiled Christ in Naples is the most amazing sculpture I have seen. I stood and looked at it for a long time (asking myself - how did he do that??????)
There are photos of it online if you google veiled christ naples.
Tagging onto Harold's post about The Bernini works in The Borghese Gallery , of particular note is his " Apollo and Daphne " . While there is no transparency in the stone , the Laurel leaves sprouting from Daphne's fingers as her transfiguration takes place , are translucent and the detail therein is ethereal - https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/45/Apollo_%26_Daphne_September_2015-1a.jpg
AND !! For everyone here , since sculpture seems to be of great interest , this hour long documentary by Simon Schama from his series " The Power of Art " about Bernini is high drama , and well worthwhile . Enjoy ! - https://youtu.be/dJsD8mmWjM8
I heard that the National Museum of Rome had some lovely sculptures.
It's hard to find a museum (or a church) in Rome that doesn't have beautiful sculptures. The Capitoline has some stunners. And of course the Vatican Museums are chock full of them.
The National Museum of Rome has 4 locations. The one near the Pantheon has the best sculptures, but my favorite is Massimo, near Termini, which has exquisite mosaics and frescoes, especially Livia's Garden.
