Transit Maps of Rome...What have you used?

First time visiting so a map specifically showing transit systems seems like a good idea.
Roma Pass map adequate?
Thanks so much.

If you want to install an app, there is one for ATAC, the public transit system for Roma.
As for maps, I sometimes buy a city map that includes a booklet with transportation routes - you can get this at any edicola (newsstand) for about 5euro (make sure it's the most current one).

There is always metro construction going on in the city, so some routes may be temporarily closed. Weekends bring another rerouting.

If you are staying at a hotel, you can always ask the front desk staff which bus to take - most of them have the ATAC app on their computers.

At the bus stop itself, there is almost always a list of all the stops on the route, so if you know your stop, you can figure out which bus to take. Again, look for schedule changes according to day of the week: Saturdays and Sundays usually have more limited service (and some bus lines don't run at all on Sunday).

Where are you staying in the city?
If you stay in the historical center you will be using very little public transportation.

I've used both A and B. As my hotel was near Termini, they were easy to access. I took one to near Piazza del Popolo, the other to just north of the Vatican and worked my way back to the hotel through the day.

I find it much more reliable to use and app or even Google maps directions to look at transit options on-the-go. ProBus or AutobusRoma are our favorite apps, and trip planning is best done at ATAC's website.
