Transfers from FCO to Rome

Party of 7 will be arriving in the evening, does anyone know the cost of transfer service via van would be? I understand the train is 11 euros (I think) per person to Rome central station. Names of companies and reviews would be of great help. Do travelers book in advance or would rates be the same when you select one at the airport?

This private transfer service, very well reviewed on Tripadvisor, quotes 45 euro for two passengers plus 5 euro for each additional passenger. You are met in the Arrivals Hall.

PS - meant to say that in Nov 2009 the official fixed rate for taxicabs from FCO to locations within the city walls was 40 euro for up to 4 passengers. You would need 2 cabs and confirm the price before you get in.

Yes, the fare on the Leonardo Express to Roma Termini is €11.00. The fare on a regional train to Roma Tiburtina is €5.50.

The second issue with four in a taxi is ---- Will the luggage fit? Most taxis are not that big.

You should check with your hotel to see if they can recommend a good service. Most hotels have a vendor they use and it's better than using a taxi.

We had 7 persons in our party. The hotel arranged a van for us.It was prompt and I think the cost was 80e which was about what the train would have cost.I think that the hotel gets great service because they deal with the same company.Id suggest that you ask your hotel.

Contact your hotel and have them arrange a ride for you. There is probably a company that they contract with which will probably be cheaper than if you try to get a taxi on your own at the airport. You will also avoid being ripped-off by some random taxi driver (watch for that!).
