Transfer Naples Train station to Hotel in Sorrento

Hello! My fiance and I are going to Italy for our honeymoon, we are traveling via train from Rome to Naples and are trying to figure out the best way to get to our Hotel - Hotel Mediterraneo Sorrento - from the train station. We aren't sure if we should just have their car service pick us up for 100 euros, or if a taxi is better. We will have our luggage so are thinking that the local Circumvesuviana might not be our best option.

The Circumvesuviana will cost you less than 10 euros apiece and get you to Sorrento in an hour. During tourist season you will almost always see people on it with luggage. Why pay 100 or more euros for the same trip?

You have other options that will cost you a lot less than 100E. First, from Naples, you can take the bus from the train station down to the Beverello docks and take the scenic ferry to Sorrento. Second, there are two bus lines that have nice buses going to Sorrento from Rome. They run twice daily from the large bus station across the street from the Rome-Tiburtina train station. Finally, there's nothing wrong with the Circumvesuviana train. They have been having financial trouble and the trains can be a bit crowded but they work just fine. As with any place where there are large crowds in tight places, just keep aware of you surroundings and keep an eye on you luggage. Save your 100E for a nice romantic dinner.

We had seven pieces of luggage going to wedding in Positano, yeah seven pieces! Anyway, took the train and had no problems, was crowded at beginning but did finds seats although my son stood next to the luggage. Take train and save the hundred euros.

Your hotel is in Sant' Agnello (next door to Sorrento) so your train stop is Sant' Agnello not Sorrento. I should have a look on Google maps to check out the walk to your hotel. Local taxis are expensive. You should be able to get a private transfer for about 80 euro, here are some places to get quotes. www.gianpierofiorentino.com www.johnnystourservice.com www.amalfi-drive.com www.autoservizidemartino.com

We've taken the Circumvesuviana many times with luggage and it was easy. One trip, we took taxi to port, then ferry, it was a nightmare.
