I am looking for a private transfer company to take my family 2 adults, 3 kids under 12 from Milan to Lake Como in early September. Does anyone have a recommendation? Thank you :)

Is the transfer from the Airport or the city center like the train station? And what city will you be staying on the Lake, Varenna, Bellagio, Lake Como itself?

If you are in Milan proper (not the airport), the train trip to Varenna or Como or Lecco is easy. From the airport (Malpensa) to Lake Como by private transfer the cost is probably between 150 and 180 euro.
You can search a company using the key words NOLEGGIO CON CONDUCENTE followed by the origin ( Malpensa airport? Linate airport? Milano?) and the exact destination (Bellagio? Varenna?).

I have the same questions as Robert in the first reply. Which town on Lago di Como are you travelling to? The cost of private transfers will likely vary according to your answer.

I can highly recommend Lake Como Transfers (http://www.lakecomotransfers.com). My family and I have been using them for years and have always enjoyed perfect service. The owner, Lorenzo Pugno, has a wealth of knowledge about the lake and surrounding areas and has made numerous recommendations for us on dining, excursions, etc. He always arrives on time (actually, early) and his Mercedes is spotless.
