What is the best way to get from Rome's city center to the cruise port in Civitavecchia?

You perhaps should define what "Best" means to YOU. Cheapest....fastest...easiest??? How many people in your group?
I have used a limo service (Bob's Limo) several times. I found it the easiest when you have more than piece of luggage. It is also the faster and takes you right to the port terminal.

It's just my wife and I and we had ruled out a limo or taxi due to cost. We were leaning toward taking the train, but
since this is our first trip to Rome, we weren't sure how reliable that would be. There is also the questions about what
station to catch the train at and getting to the ship after we reach the Civitavecchia station.

The train is easy & reliable. Purchase your tickets at the Termini Station before you depart.
