Hello.
Please, suggest a reliable and not ridiculously expensive shuttle company that could pick 3 ppl from the Milan airport Malpensa, to our hotel in Milan.
Thanks in advance!
The taxi fare is 80-90 Euro and takes an hour. Why not take the train for about 13 Euro each, which takes an hour to Milano Centrale, then take a taxi to your hotel? BTW, which hotel?
Please define "ridiculously expensive" so we know how to best frame our answer. And you do understand that the airport is about an hour from the city - it is almost in Switzerland.
We were just in Milan, the train (express) from the airport to central Milan is very easy and reasonably priced. A taxi that far would be very expensive.
If you are going to the very city center, actually Cadorna station is closer than Centrale and has a large taxi rank quite near the arrival platform that is on a side of the station. Usually taking a train and then a taxi is the fastest and cheapest way to get to/from the airport. Going all the way by taxi is very expensive and you are exposed to possible traffic delays on the motorway.
Train to Cadorna station then taxi
Take the train. It'll get you there quicker and less expensively than a cab.
Malpensa is a long way from Milan.
I definitely agree with the others.... take the Malpensa Express to whichever station is closest to your hotel (Centrale or Cadorna), and then Taxi to your hotel. Which hotel are you staying at?
One other important point to mention - don't forget to validate (time & date stamp) your ticket before boarding the Malpensa Express, or you'll risk hefty fines which will be collected on the spot!
Thanks, everyone!
Our first trip to Milan we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express by the airport. There is an excellent restaurant in walking distance. We then took the train to Milan. So easy and inexpensive. Enjoy
