trains only!/Volterra

We have a child who gets carsick so...we want to try to go to Volterra and I was wondering if there are taxis available at the station and how much you think it would cost. I think the station is called Saline - Volterra.

There is no train station in Volterra. It's in nearby Saline-Pomarance, a short taxi ride away. However, this train only comes in via Pisa/Cecina on the west coast. From Florence, this is a 3.0hr. train journey with 2 train changes. Even from Siena, Trenitala will route you via Pisa and Cecina. SITA has a great large bus run from Florence to Volterra. Much quicker and less expensive.
