Trains northern Italy

We will be traveling for 2 weeks in September to Italy. Florence to Monterosso. Monterosso to Florence to Bolzano. Bolzano to Venice. Is it better to get train tickets for each piece when we arrive, in advance, or is there a single train pass that we could buy that would cover all the pieces?

Don't get a pass. Florence to Monterosso can be done with regional trains, cheap and always the same price. Florence to Bolzano to Venice can be done with advance Super Economy nonrefundable tickets that can be quite cheap as well.

Is there a reason you are training back to Florence from Monterosso? The obvious route from Monterosso to Bolzano would be via Milan and Verona. Or via Genoa and Verona. From Florence you could take an high speed train to Venice.
