The train schedules are not yet posted for June but you can get a good idea of what the schedules will like on your day of travel be by visiting the Trenitalia website. Just search for the same day of the week as you'll be traveling, but select a date in May.

http://www.trenitalia.com/

Click the British flag in the top right corner for English and then type your departure and arrival stations in Italian (For example use Venezia Santa Lucia for your departure station from Venice and Firenze Santa Maria Novella (S.M.N) for Florence.

Where will you be heading after you visit Florence?

If you plan to travel to Rome after Florence, it's best to travel from Venice to Florence.

So you'd travel from Venice to Florence then Florence to CT, then CT to Rome.

There are several options regarding train travel from Venice to Monterosso & they will all require at least 2 train transfers as follows:

  • Venice > Florence > Pisa > Monterosso
  • Venice> Florence > La Spezia > Monterosso
  • Venice > Milan > Genoa (Genova) > Monterosso

You can see train schedules on the trenitalia website as mentioned above by BacktoItaly

nags,

There are two main routes for travel from Venice to Monterosso, either via Milan or via Florence. The Florence route is often a bit faster, but involves two changes, and the shortest travel time is about 5.5 hours. The trip from Monterosso to Florence is also very easy, and usually travels via Pisa. You can research all the times and other details using either the Trenitalia or bahn.de websites.

If it's possible to re-arrange your Itinerary, it's more efficient to travel Venice > Florence > Monterosso, as that minimizes travel times.

Thank you all for great responses. Vacation homes booked so guess we'll just enjoy the Venice to Monterosso train when they finally do list them on website. When will June trains be listed?

Regional trains, which may be used for the last leg of your trip, will not likely be published on the DB site until after the June 14 schedule change actually happens. On the Trenitalia site, the faster train tickets can go on sale a couple of months ahead, but again not tickets for slower regional trains (sold max 1 week ahead online, but with those tickets extra restrictions vs. buying in a train station or travel agency in Venice).
