Hello Lovely Travellers, we would like to take a train (day trip) from Venice to Padua and Verona, and back to Venice the same day. I am wondering if you think we could do that in one day. I believe these towns are each on the way to the other (?) Would we just buy a ticket to each city and use the same train? Would you know if it is the Regional type train we would take? Also, would these tickets require purchasing in advance, or just purchase them at the Venice train station? Thank you for your advise.
You could buy tickets on the day.
Venice to Verona
Verona to Padua
Padua to Venice
That being said, you won’t get to appreciate either city. Seems a bit rushed to me.
There are many regional trains each day- takes only slightly longer than fast train, but is cheaper!
You can purchase all as you set off- at the station or on the app. Regional tickets can not sell out. No seat assignments.
3 separate tickets
Venezia S Lucia to Padova
Padova to Verona Porta Nuova
Verona Porta Nuova to Venezia S Lucia
If you purchase tickets at station be Sur to validate before boarding,
Tix purchased on app do not need to be validated.
Your ticket is good for any similar train in the next 4 hours.
Not sure I would want to try to fit both Padova and Verona in same day.
If you want to visit Scrovegni Chapel you must book your tickets in advance
Thank you. Perhaps I should just do each on separate days.
Perhaps I should just do each on separate days.
If you have the time- yes- separate days.
We recently spent 3 nights in both Padova and Verona and enjoyed both.
