You will take a Circumvesuviana commuter train from Sorrento to Napoli Garibaldi which is in the lower level of the Napoli Centrale station. The trip takes just over one hour. For timetables, go here. The fare is around €4.00. For timetables and fares for Napoli Centrale - Roma Termini see trenitalia.com. If you take either a high-speed EuroStar Italia train or an IC train, you can book advance purchase Mini fares for those trains on the Trenitalia site.

You must be referring to the Circumvesuviana timetables. They are likely to be the same as they are now. Pick a date within the next week or so that corresponds to the day of the week you plan to travel and see what the timetables show. You can book Naples-Rome now on the Trenitalia site for travel throughout November - and doing so ASAP can get you Mini fare tickets. Choose the "Ticketless with payment receipt via email" option so you won't have to stand in line at the station. Give yourself around 30 minutes to get from the lower level of the station to the upper level and find the platform for your train to Rome.

There are also two bus companies with direct buses to/from Sorrento/Rome. Curreri and Marrozzi. We used Marrozzi in July and it was a great ride. They have websites.
