trains from Siena to Rome or even Firenze!!!

I'm planning the last leg of our Italy trip for this coming May/June. I find I can't book a train from Siena to Rome or even to Firenze!!! I could easily book the train to take me TO Siena, I just can't get away. (you can check in any time you like, but you can never leave?) This is on a Monday - is there something restricted about Mondays? I find there's a bus, so I guess I'll get bus tickets when I get to Siena to get us back to Firenze. I checked the Trenitalia AND the DB sites and they say no service. This seems very odd.

You didn't happen to use a date from June 11th? These schedules are not yet in the system.
The bus is the easiest way to get from Siena to Florence. It saves you the trip to the train station somewhere below the city.

The only trains that make sense to book are the high speed trains (FrecciaRossa) from Roma to Firenze.
You can save if you buy ahead, although once you book a train at a discounted fare (SuperEconomy or Economy), you can't make changes or get refunds.

Siena is not served by high speed trains, therefore you should buy that last section on the spot.
I don't know where you go to Siena from.
If you go from Florence the bus is faster (75 vs 95 min by train). The buses are at the bus station across from the train station in Florence.
If you go from Rome, I think the best option is to take the SENA bus from Roma Tiburtina directly to Siena. No changes required.
When you leave Siena, same story. If you go to Firenze, take the bus. If you go straight from Siena to Rome take the SENA bus.
The train makes sense only between Florence and Roma. You don't say if you intend to go to visit Florence at all

To add to Roberto's info, the buses from Firenze take you to the center of Siena; the train station is outside the center, about 1 km..
