trains from Rome to Salerno and Salerno to Venice

This June we are staying outside of Rome, about 30 minutes northwest of the center, and need to find a train to take us to Salerno. There are many trains that offer this route, but which station would be most convenient for us? Then when we leave Salerno to go to Venice, we will have the same problem. It is our 2nd honeymoon, and it seems to become exponentially more complicated the more we learn! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Aimee,
It would help to know where exactly you are staying. I'm also curious how are you getting there in the first place?
Salerno to Venice will be no issue; what dates are you needing to make both of your journeys?

30 min NW of the city center is too vague. Is it 30 min walking, by taxi, by bus? Just give us the exact address so we can give you the transportation options to the station.

It is not complicated at all. Trains to Salerno depart from Roma Termini. That's the one you want.

There are two train companies operating in Italy:
www.trenitalia.com
www.italotreno.it
Choose the one that is more convenient and/or cheaper for your needs. Quality of service is similar.

Use Italian names of stations to search:
Roma Termini
Salerno
Venezia Santa Lucia
