I am traveling by train from Milan to Padua on Sept. 20. When I pull up the Central Train Station in Milan to get a schedule it shows most times not available. Should I be concerned about that? I understand trains rarely sell out and shouldn't be a problem purchasing a ticket at the station when I arrive.
If you're using the Milano Centrale website, it will just show you the schedule - and they don't have the ACTUAL schedule until much closer to the actual departure/arrival of the trains; that's why those boards are always changing! You need to look at www.trenitalia.com (for ticket prices) and/or... http://www.bahn.com/i/view/USA/en/index.shtml...for user-friendly schedules for ALL of Europe (can only purchase for trips with 'German legs' in them...). That particular route won't sell out most likely - for Sept. 20, there are several trains to choose from, (most are no-connection/transfer), the trip takes 2h06m, and 1st class is 40,00€ and 2nd class is 28,00€. You can buy the tickets there; there are no advance-purchase discounts on this route. You've done your homework ;-)...Be Sure on Trenitalia.com to use 'Padova'...
