trains

I know no one can answer tis definitively but here goes...we will be going from Rome to Cortona and then Cortona to Pisa in late April/early May. We have a preferred time Rome to Cortona we are considering but, because of air schedules to Rome can't commit. Is there much chance any individual time will sell out that time of year? For Cortona to Pisa there is a train arriving at Pisa's airport at 6:08 for a 7:45 pm flight. Does that allow enough time at that airport and is there much chance of that train selling out?

Since there are no reseved seats on Regionale trains and people movers, they can't sell out.

Freccias and Intercity trains can sell out, but I've never seen it happen in person. If you are travelling around May 1 you could be forced to travel in 1st class, travelling during the holydays is risky from this point of view,
