train travel ? - laguria to venice

We are planning to leave the CT area on the morning on Dec. 19th and need to be in Padua (Venice) by that evening -
my question is: Will we have time to get off of the train at Verona for a few hours look around and then continue on... I think the train will go from CT to Milan and then we will get a train towards Venice.... thanks

If you do this you'll have to book tickets to Verona and then from Verona on to Padua. It should cost the same as a through ticket but a through ticket won't allow you to spend a few hours in another city along the route. You don't mention which city in CT you'll be leaving from so I can't help with that part of the question. Donna

Thanks you for the reply. I am not sure which town we will be staying in while in CT. Any suggestions on that?
