Train travel in Italy - CarteFreccia cards

Hi! I ordered a CarteFreccia card on Sept 15th to get the seniors discount for train travel.
I still haven’t heard back. We leave on Oct 8th and I would like to book my train travel…
Any ideas on what I can do?
I did send them a follow up email.
On this blog i heard it was a quick process…
Thanks

Good luck. I got mine in 2 business days but others report weeks. Check the tickets that you’re planning to buy and you might find out that the Seniors tickets are all sold out. I wanted Bologna to Varenna and the seniors for Bologna to Milan section were sold out as were a number of other categories and only the expensive ones were still available. It’s going to cost us about €30 extra. Similarly the route back to Rome, so the Seniors card isn’t going to be useful to us.

Try the other company to compare times and costs on major routes. Italotreno.it versus trenitalia.com

The application form states to allow up to 45 days for processing. Earlier in the year, it was a two to three day turn-around. Lately, it has taken as much as 60 days. What makes the difference? I have no idea…..

Thank you for the feedback! We just purchased full price tickets and still haven’t heard. Better luck next time!

We applied 4 weeks before travel to Italy, never heard from them, and simply purchased tickets as needed. We did discuss the possible acqusition of the pass with a TrenItalia assistant in Milan, but she was unable to get the pass while we were there. We should have applied 3 m in advance.
