train travel from: MPX to Torino. Torino to Domodossola. Domodossola to Venice.

In checking I see that one route from Torino to Domodossola takes almost 12 hours ?????

We will be staying 2 nights in Torino, 3 nights in Domodossola and then off to Venice,Florence and Rome.

There seems to be quite a variance on time travel. What would you suggest to be the quickest way to go ???

We will be arriving in MXP Sept. 2 a.m.

thanks

From Torino to Domodossola the quickest way is to take a train from Torino PP or Torino Porta Susa to Milano Centrale (Frecciarossa). Then at Milano Centrale switch to a Regionale or IC to Domodossola.

It doesn't take 12 hours. Maybe 3 including train changes in Milan.

From Domodossola to Venice, same thing. Take the train back to Milan Centrale, then switch to a train from Milan to Venice (Frecciabianca, IC, or even Regionale).

From MXP to Torino, the most convenient is the bus.

I think from now until October you don't need to go all the way from Torino to Milano Centrale to catch a train to Domodossola.
You can probably change trains at the station before, at the Milano Expo/Rho station and switch trains there. You'll save some backtracking that way.
There are also trains from Novara to Domodossola (via lake Orta). It's a shorter route but trains are slower, so it's probably the same time. Just consult the Trenitalia website for the best option at your time of travel.
