Have just purchased Italy 2012 book. Advises train from Milano to Varenna. When I try to check schedules via DB Bahn Travel Service website, no schedules are shown. Suggestions?

Use the Trenitalia website and put in a date within the next week to see the schedules, as this is a Regional train. You will see they depart every two hours, at 10:20, 12:20, 14:20, etc. For some reason Bahn.de and SBB.ch do not recognize Varenna or Varenna-Esino. And if you put in Tirano, which is at the end of that line, they will send you by bus, not by train through Varenna.
