I googled travel from Florence to Genoa Italy and it appears there is a train route; however, the train track does not appear when I zoom in. I am curious if the train is underground. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

It's not totally underground, but between La Spezia and Genoa there are an infinity of tunnels as that segment of the coast is very mountainous with mountains and cliffs jutting out into the sea.
