Train to Verona

Hi,

I'm taking a train from Terontola (as listed on the rail Europe website, also called Terontola-Cortona on the Trenitalia website) to Verona. I'm going in August, just for the day and I was checking out prices. I can book tickets now, with the exchange rate, it's actually cheaper to book through Trenitalia in euros then the canadian website in canadian dollars.. It's saying I can do the round trip for roughly 67€. Which is about 96$ canadian. My question is, if I buy them this far in advance to get the cheaper class and economy tickets will they still be valid come August, I have to take the train from Terontola to either bologna or Florence and then from either of those cities to Verona.

Thanx

Trenitalia won't sell you a ticket that's not valid for the specific date you requested. If you get an advance discount on the Florence-Verona portion, it's only valid for the specific date and departure time listed. Since the Regional Veloce train from Cortona to Florence is also offered for sale now, that should be fine (with different rules than some other regional tickets that only go on sale a week ahead). The Cortona station might have a machine that only sells regional tickets, e.g., to Florence.
