Train to Florence and Florence to Venice and Firenze card?

We are flying into Rome from Budapest. How long should we plan to travel from Rome airport to Florence?
We will be in Florence from Sept. 20 -23, three night. Would it makes sense to buy the Firenze Card for this short of time? If we buy the ticket
( we must buy it there I understand from the book) do we still need to make reservations. How long will it take by train to get to Venice from Florence? I know what the train charts say but I want to know from someone who has traveled these routes recently.

Why don't you use the website of the Italian railways for the schedules and travelling times? For the couleur locale you must use the Italian designations: Fiumicino aeroporto, Firenze S.M. Novella and Venezia S. Lucia. When buying tickets, you must realize you can't be sure about the train you can take for the trip from Rome to Florence: late arrival, longer than usual at the luggage belt, and whatever can make it slower than expected.

As far as the train from Florence to Venice, do you doubt that the schedules are accurate?

If you are on the Alitalia flight that lands at 13:50, you would stand a good chance of making the 15:08 direct train to Florence. If your question is whether you should go ahead and buy SuperEconomy tickets in order to save 25 EUR per person, that is up to your own estimate of whether the flight will arrive on time and your gambling instincts.

The Firenze Card doesn't require additional reservations, which is the main point of it, perhaps even aside from whether or not you'll recoup the 72-euro price in the value of entrance fees during its 72-hour validity. If you don't want to spend this amount, then reserve as soon as possible for the galleries that have the prohibitive lines - the Accademia and Uffizi - at https://webshop.b-ticket.com/webshop/webticket/eventlist?language=en&languages=it&production=4&tokenName=CSRFTOKEN.

Assuming you're landing at FCO, not Ciampino, the trip should take 2:15 - 2:30. Firenze to Venezia, 2 hours.

I know what the train charts say but I want to know from someone who
has traveled these routes recently.

Just to add, the Trenitalia and Italo (the latter for trains from Florence to Venice, should you choose that line) charts are reasonably accurate aside from unforeseen/unavoidable delays, such as a problem on the tracks somewhere.
But I wouldn't pre-purchase tickets for your journey from Rome to Florence on arrival day. Flight or other airport delays are not uncommon so it's safer to purchase your tickets at the station upon arrival.

Firenze Cards: I don't know as anyone can tell you whether they'll be a good buy for you or not. Value of passes is highly dependent on the amount of things covered by the pass that you wish to see, and how much time you actually have to fit those in. Often - especially if time is short - it's more advantageous just to pre-purchase tickets for the attractions with the longest lines, if those are on your must-do list.
