I'm looking to book a train from Florence to the Cinque terra beginning of August. But i can't seem to find any available schedules through the train italian train websites. Any tips ?

Wait until the Regionale schedules are released close to June 11.
If you are curious as to timing and cost, just look at the schedule for the same day of the week you intend to travel in the next 7 days. It should not change much, if at all.

Hi. To add to Sam's good advice... don't buy these tix online; it's best to wait and buy when in Italy. To see the schedules, use trenitalia.com and station names Firenze SMN and your CT town. Enjoy your trip!

And make sure you are ready to get off the train when it stops in Monterosso. You only have a few minutes to exit. We were dawdling so the door shut right when we walked up to it. The conductor just shook his head at us. We had to get off at the next stop which I think is Levanto (can't remember for sure) then as it was a weekend, had to wait almost an hour for the train to take us back to Monterosso.
