Hi I am getting ready to buy my tickets for Italy from Rome to Florence and the Semi Flexible pass is 40pp where as the Non-Flexible pass is 26pp. What are the benefits of buying the Semi Flexible and is it worth paying the extra cash or should I just purchase the cheapest ticket?
Don't buy any type of pass. Just buy point to point tickets. You can buy these online at the official trenitalia site. You can get tickets for as low as 19 euros each up to 43 euros each, all fees included. http://www.trenitalia.com/cms/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=ad1ce14114bc9110VgnVCM10000080a3e90aRCRD

In Italy, point-to-point is much less expensive than any type of train pass. You can also buy tickets on site at the kiosks (some only take credit cards, some take cash and make change; instructions are in language of your choice).
