Train Tickets Late July Rome to Venice and then Venice to Florence

Good Morning,

In a previous post I learned that there is work on the high speed train tracks in the Florence area in late July and that there would be ability to purchase tickets on the train but that it would include a bus transfer of some sort between two of the Florence stations. We cannot see any of these options available on July 28th or July 29th.

We are trying to get to Venice for a quick stop for a day and overnight (son really wants to see the canals) and then onto Florence the next day.

Our questions are:
1. When will those tickets become available for purchase on either Trenitalia or Italo?
2. Is it a certainty that those tickets will become available? (right now, I am not able to purchase any high speed tickets on that line (even if I break it up as two legs from Rome to Florence and then Florence to Venice (using the stations on either side of the work). I also cannot see tickets on the high speed line available to go just from Venice to any station in Florence.

The reason I ask, is that if no high speed train tickets will be available, we may just purchase an airfare between Rome and Venice, but then are left with the challenge of getting between Venice and Florence (where we will stay for a few days and then head onto another destination).

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide!

The tickets will be available, and - I am afraid - you'll have to take a bus. Don't worry, they won't cut the country in 2 for 4 days in late July when many Italians go on holyday. Not without, at least, a substitute bus service between Rifreddi and CdM stations.

As I have already explained in another thread, they did the same in January when the works started and more or less things went as planned. Why shouldn't they manage the works the same way in July, at the pick of the summer season?
And if, for mysterious evil reasons, Trenitalia decided to totally close the main railway backbone, why showing a warning that reads temporarily not available?
