Train Tickets from Trenitalia

I sure hope I didn't mess this up! I just purchased tickets on Trenitalia from Terontola-Cortona to Bolzano. There was a special 2 for 1 fare from Firenze to Bolzano. I tried to register an account with Trenitalia, but the United States was not an option for birth place. I was able to purchase the tickets without registering, but I wanted to have the account set up for future purchases. Anyone know why US is not an option or am I overlooking something?

Kathy,

For future reference, you can also purchase tickets for both Trenitalia and Italo at www.trainline.eu, at the same price as the rail networks.

Priscilla,

I didn't think of it being in Italian since I was using the English version. Thanks!

Kathy,

I know what you mean... The station names are also in Italian even if you're using the English version.

If you live in the United States you're not able to register. You have to purchase without registering. Hopefully you gave them an email address while purchasing. That's the way they send you your tickets.

Eve, I live in the US and am registered. Priscilla is right, choose Stati Uniti.

Kathy, you can use the code on your ticket to manage your reservation.

I'm sorry. :-( I was told I couldn't register because of living in the US. Guess I was given bad info. Now I wish I'd registered.

I just confirmed you can't register if you don't live in Italy on the Trenitalia site.

You can register as a user but not as a Cartafreccia member. As mentioned, just select Stati Uniti.

Thanks for all of your replies! Yes, I did enter an email and did receive the tickets by email. I love this forum and all of the helpful people who share my passion for travel and adventure. You are the best!

This was my first attempt at pre-purchasing train tickets. I am always concerned that our plans could change. This trip we have several reservations that require canceling weeks to months in advance. So, I know we will stick to our itinerary unless there is an emergency. Then our trip insurance will kick in.

Again, many thanks!
