I'm trying to book train ticket to Orvieto on the Trenitalia website. I have to pick between two stations: "Orvieto" or "Orvieto Centro". I'm confused because in Rick's guidebook it just mentions "The train station is at the foot of the hill the old town sits on." but doesn't give the name of the station???? Anyone know more details? thanks

There is actually only one station
Orvieto
From there you can take funicular/ bus up to town
Orvieto Centro just means they are including the bus ticket

Hello dneilg,
The funicular station is right outside the train station and takes you to the lower edge of town. It's kind of a cool thing to do and the town is small enough that you're probably not that far from where you want to go.
I can't imagine the bus is anywhere near as interesting unless you have too much luggage and need to be on the other end of town.
