Does anyone know if you can get a refund on any train tickets purchased in advance if there is a train strike while we are in Italy?

I have been through train strikes and basically you just wait until the strike is over, they are usually for a few hours, and you catch the next train. The trains run so frequently so there was never a problem.
Last time it gave us 4 more hours in Venice to drink wine!
