Train Strikes

Do train strikes in Italy occur on particular days more than others? I’m going to book a train from Rome to Florence on a Sunday and am just curious if train strikes take place on Sundays. In the case of a train strike, what are the steps needed to make it to the next location?

Sad to say, the most likely day is Friday, so that people can stay home from Friday to Sunday. A strike on Sunday is almost unheard of.
In case of a train strike, a minimum amount of service should be granted anyway, so there is a list of long range trains that will run in any case (for regional trains, some hours are defined as no-strike). Of course trying to get all the people on half the trains will likely cause some inconvenience.

I doubt you are taking a local between Florence and Rome, the chances of an high speed train to be blocked by a strike are close to zero. The steps are needed before, book with Italotreno or pick a long distance guaranteed train from Trenitalia's list.
