train strike on Sept 17

How can I book a ticket from Milan (cadorna station or centrale/) early on Sept. 17 to Como or Varenna?" My hotel is reserved in Bellagio beginning 9/17. Please help!

A possibility is to take Malpensa express (operated by trenord, who I do not think is on strike) to Malpensa. There is a bus service to Como from Malpensa. The only reason I know this is because this is my backup plan should all the trenitala trains be on strike.

Hi Mercedes. Double check the date / time for the strike. The info I see is that the train strike doesn't start until 9 pm on the 17th. Enjoy your trip!

Thanks for the help. I was wondering if on arrival in Milan it still may be possible to buy a departure ticket for early in the day travel on Sept. 17. Where to buy it? Travel agent? Cadorna station? Or will everyone have beat me to it! Malpensa option provides some comfort.

Hi Mercedes. You may be over thinking / over worrying this. :) Just go to Milan Centrale and buy your ticket to Varenna at the machine or window. This is a regional train; there are no reserved seats, impossible to sell out.
Enjoy your trip!!
