After reading the post about the train strike for June 25, I became concerned as we are supposed to take the train from Orvieto to Florence on the 25th. Will this run be affected? Do we have the option to take a bus to Florence? If so what where would I find the bus schedule. Can we rent a van for six people in Orvieto to take to Florence if necessary. Thanks for any advise.
Brenda, I'm concerned as well. We are planning to travel from Florence to Rome on the morning of the 25th. Anyone have any advice? I've read previous threads, and it seems as though the consensus is to check the websites. However, knowing that the strike is happening doesn't alleviate my worries. I want to know what I can do to prepare! :)
Here is a link to the Trenitalia page listing trains that are guaranteed to run in the event of a strike. The actual list (click on the link) is i Italian, but it is pretty easy to figure out.

Remember that this is the minimum service---there may well be other trains running, as others have reported.
