Train Stop btw Munich and Venice

We are looking for a good place to for a family of 4 to stay near the train between Munich and Venice. We are travelling in May. We were going to take the night train, but decided the scenery looks too spectacular to miss.

Hi Mike. It's a 6-7 hour trip, you could do it all in one day if desired. But if you want to split it, possible overnights would be:
- Innsbruck or Hall im Tirol in Austria ( about 2 hours from Munich)
- Bolzano Italy (about half way)
- Verona Italy (1.5 hours to Venice)

Enjoy your trip!

Since most trains require a change in Verona and Verona is a very pretty city, I would spend some time there. However, as aforementioned, if you don't mind a 7 hour journey you can make it to Venice on the same day.

I can't speak for Verona (i hear it is pretty special), though i can speak for Bolzano. We broke up a car trip from the dolomites back to florence for a day in bolzano, mainly to visit Otzi, the iceman, who is in the south tyrol archaeology museum http://www.iceman.it . We were a family of 4, our kids were about 8 and 10 at the time. It was very cool, and i would recommend getting the headsets for the audio tour, very well-done, all four of us learned so much!
