Hubby and I arriving Venice from Vienna on night train at 8:34am. September 29th. I am hoping to pack a carry-on only plus backpacks for our whole trip but what I need to know is where do I go to get a ride to our hotel so we can drop off our luggage and sightsee for the day. How far from the train station is a boat/taxi/Uber??? I have no idea of what I’m doing once I get off that train. Is there a map I can download? How big of a boat do we need to get on? Are there private boats versus larger multiple passenger boats? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you .
Recent post explaining transport in Venice
No Uber in Italy, no cars in Venice!
Since you are staying on Lido, you might want to book a water taxi -link is in that thread above
Does your hotel’s website have instructions for arrival?
You other option is the vaporetto, and you will likely need/want a length of stay pass since you are over on Lido
Purchase your ticket/pass at kiosk outside station
The docks are all right there
Be sure to validate your pass each and every time you board
When you exit the train station you are on the Grand Canal
