train station to cruise port in Venice--is it easy walk??

We are getting into Venice a few days early so need to get to Royal Caribbean cruise port on our own. Our hotel is near the train station. We can get a transfer to the ship for $88... or will a vaporetto get us close? or is it walkable ??

This is dangerous advice - BUT the last time (several years ago) we were in Venice I thought it was short walk over a bridge to the cruise area from the train station. But I also remember that the cruise port now may be further away. I would look at goggle map and see what it looks like if you don't a better response. Is your hotel on the main land near the train station or on the island near the train station?

Just noticed this is a double posted question about 25 mins apart. I guess we didn't answer fast enough for you.

A friend of mine is there now and just boarded... I remember her saying something about the walk being very long, and she went to P. Roma and took a taxi to the port? Which wasn't far, but saved a ton of walking... I am guessing she meant water taxi but not sure... cost about 20 Euro and she said well worth it to skip the walk. - I'll see if I can find out if it was water or regular taxi... not sure where the port is exactly...

Here is what she said:
Packed up and wheeled our 2 smallish bags over to the Rialto Mercato vaporetto floating dock, validated our tickets and we were off. Left the hotel at 10am, arrived at Pl Roma at about 10:30am, knew that the earliest on board time would be about 11:45, so rather than sit in the terminal, we chose to just wait by the taxi stand and enjoy the sun.

When the number of taxis at the stand dwindled to one, we made our move - Yes, less than 5 minutes to the luggage drop off spot at the terminal. 20 Euros, a bargain when you consider the hassle that it saved us.

Just messaged my friend - it was an actual car taxi. And she said they chose it because the elevator also was not working.
