A quick google search for Montecatini Terme Bus turned up this info: Montecatini Terme located in Tuscany, is not a resort: it's the biggest spa-town in Italy. Here tourism is the main activity: every year 200 hotels sell 2 million overnight-stays for travelers who want to see the city amenities and to take short trips to the nearby art-cities: Lucca, Florence, Pisa, Siena... all easily reachable by bus or by train (2 train stations: "Montecatini Terme-Monsummano" and "Montecatini Centro"). Go to www.trenitalia.com to see where the trains can get you. Happy travels.

I stayed in Montecatini Terme a few years ago. An old fashioned kind of spa town. As noted it is on the rail lines and you can reach Florence, Pisa, Lucca etc from there.
But we also went on a funicular in Montecatini Terme itself to Montecatine Alto - a very small hill town above Montecatini Terme. I remember the funicular was open until quite late and we went up one evening. There was a terrific gelato cafe (among other things).
