Train Schedule Website

Hi Everyone! In exactly one month from today my husband and I will be departing JFK for Rome, Assisi, Florence, Siena. I'm not TOO excited.

So at this point in my planning I've starting looking up the train schedules on the Trenitalia website. I'm so disappointed because the schedules aren't showing early morning departures. Since we're taking the train from city to city, leaving early is important to us. Am I doing something wrong?

Ron - will I be able to get early morning trains?

Linda - if you put in the HOUR slot 01 (for 1 AM), it will will bring up the earliest trains, which are are often about 5:30 - 6 AM on many routes. Try that and let us know if it works! Website link I used is: http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html

As well, Trenitalia is still slowly, but surely, putting its new schedules into the system, to take effect June 15th. Your trains may not be in the system yet...just keep trying!

Linda, I agree with Ron and Norm. I would only add that if you put in a date of say June 5 (which I do for another week), you'll get the current schedules. When the schedules are updated, you'll find that they won't change much. Normally, Trenitalia runs 55 trains a day between Rome and Florence but you are going to Assisi and Siena. You will find fewer runs and, they will mostly be on local R trains although I do see a couple of Eurostars staring out in Rome and changing in Foligno to the R train.
