Train Rome to Vicenza

I see that you can either go thru Padova or Verona. Any recommendations on which train station is easier to change trains in? I've been to Verona but not as a change of trains. I will be by myself so don't want it to be difficult. The only time I had a bit of confusion and almost missed the train connection was Bologna and would prefer less stress. Thanks so much.

Padua is a pretty compact station. If you are transferring between Freccia trains, probably just cross platform, but you never know. It has 9 tracks with 4 island platforms.

While many suggested connections at Padova give you 11 minutes to change between the reserved trains, there are many more unreserved regional trains departing from Padova to Venice, if you'd rather not commit to a reservation on that leg.

Laura, the question is about Vicenza, not Venice.

It is true that the Regionale, and the Regionale Veloce trains also go west, to Vicenza and onwards to Verona - but that is slower than the planned train.
