High speed ticket purchased and printed out order confirmation for 2 with seat assignments. Read the instruction but I’m still perplexed. Is this printed confirmation all we need. Our train leaves at 8:30 am. We’re taxi to Termini. Just very nervous. Help. Judy
That’s all you need
Christine, I just hand over the printed confirmation? I’ve been to Termini last about 4 years ago and also before that. I just recall the size of the place. Easiest way to determine our track?
At Roma Termini look at the large overhead reader board for departure trains. Locate the time your train is leaving. You may need to wait until that time is loaded into the board if you arrive very early, or there are a lot of trains leaving 10 minutes before yours, etc. When the time shows up, double check that the train number matches your ticket train number. Then watch for the Track # to be displayed. It usually shows up 5-15 minutes before the train leaves.
For this train station, they have a set of plexiglass doors at multiple locations between the area where anyone can stand & the place for only ticket holders. The doors are where you need to scan the QR code on your ticket to open the glass door.
If you’re concerned, arrive 15-20 minutes early and observe everyone else. It’s very easy.
When you walk to your train, locate the train car number that’s on your ticket. Then board that car. Quickly head to your seat so others can board, also.
In the train during your ride, a conductor will stop by and scan your code to verify you paid.
Your QR code printed or on your phone will get you through to the platform. The Man in Seat 61 site has Termini Station details - https://www.seat61.com/stations/rome-termini.htm
