Train reservations

Traveling from Caserta to Padua on Easter Sunday.

Do we need to book tickets now? Or can we buy tickets on the day of or day before?

I understand the ability to get cheaper tickets in advance but more concerned about how booked the trains might be.

Thanks!

Do not focus on price.
The delta is mouse nuts in your overall expenses.

Well, that was not useful. Not concerned about price but more availability. Thank you very much.

I'd book that now if you are ready; your time of departure options may become more limited. Or the we may not be able to get seats together.

^^ What does this even mean?

Since it is Easter Sunday I would purchase in advance. I don't know if they'll sell out- they could.
What is your alternate plan if you wait and tix are gone? Are there multiple trains you could take that day?
If you know you need to travel on that day- purchase in advance.

Trenitalia’s high-speed train #FR 9620 gets you there in 5 hours at 13:04 for about $65. I would pounce on that because a lot of the alternatives aren’t appealing.

Its not Easter Sunday that is a big travel day. Easter Monday is.

You see that on Trenitalia: Lots of Supereconomy tickets still available for Sunday, not so much for Monday. But no trains are sold out yet.
