We are going to take the train from Munich to Florence. There are 5 of us. Does any one know if I need to make a reservation or is it possible to just buy it that day?
We are going in July.

If you're not travelling on a weekend, you should be OK. Best to reserve two days beforehand. Austrian/German rail have a direct daylight train from Munich to Bologna Centrale, where you can connect to Trenitalia to Florence. There is also a night train (best to reserve a sleeping compartment).
