I will going from Venice to CT. Should I try and get a ticket to Genoa, La Spezia or ? After a couple days there I am going to Cortona for a week. My plan is to train to Arezzo via Pisa. I will pick up a car in Arezzo for use while in Tuscany/Umbria area. I'm looking for advice on my thinking regarding train travel. Thanks.

You can take trains from Venezia Santa Lucia to the Cinque Terre towns. Routes and the number of changes vary depending upon which town you choose as your destination. See the timetables and fares at www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html.
